Interested in something about sessions with a psychologist?

Here you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions.

What types of sessions do you offer?

Clients can book online sessions with all psychologists, many of whom also offer in-person (offline) sessions in various cities across Slovakia, depending on where the selected psychologist is based. Most psychologists also provide the option for intensive sessions, which practically means longer session durations. Additionally, psychologists, based on their training, offer other specialized sessions, such as couples, EMDR, hypnotherapy, and others.

How do I join an online session?

You will receive a link to the online session via email immediately after paying for the session. This link is unique for each session at the agreed time and date. This means that after paying for another session, you will receive a new link for the next meeting by email. For sessions through ksebe, you do not need to download any special application or program. If you want to try how the call looks, you can click on the link even before the session starts – the psychologist will join it only at the agreed time. If you haven't ordered a session yet, you can see what the call looks like in a test call here.

Which platform do you use for online sessions?

For online sessions, we use the ksebe platform Daily.co. This platform is designed with a focus on protecting your personal information – it does not store any audio, video, or shared data from calls, except in cases where recording is permitted and initiated by an authorized user, such as a psychologist, and only after agreement with the client. Additionally, the platform does not share any data with third parties, ensuring maximum protection of your information. You can read more about the first session here.

How to Prepare for the First Session?

If you are attending your first online session, you will need a laptop with a camera or a mobile phone, a stable internet connection, and any place where you can have an uninterrupted conversation with the psychologist. For sessions via ksebe, you don't need to download any special application or software, but we recommend clicking on the session link before it begins to test your microphone and camera—this way, you can avoid technical complications and make the most out of your session time. If you have any notes or a journal where you've written down your feelings and thoughts, it might be useful to have them with you; this applies even if you are attending in person. If you don't bring anything with you at all, that's completely okay. You can read more about the first session here.

What if I feel nervous before the first session?

It is natural to feel nervous before your first session with a psychologist. Remember that the psychologist is there to help you, and your conversation will be confidential. Try to focus on the fact that you are taking an important step for your mental health. If you have major concerns, you can talk about them directly in the session – the psychologist will certainly provide support.

How often should sessions be attended?

The frequency of sessions depends on the individual needs of each client. Some people prefer regular weekly meetings, while others find less frequent sessions sufficient. It is important to find a pace with your psychologist that suits you and supports your healing or personal growth process. Your psychologist can recommend a suitable frequency based on your goals and current situation, but the final decision is always yours.

Why do I need to provide my name, phone number, and email when creating a profile on ksebe?

We need your contact details in case your psychologist or our customer support needs to contact you if there are unexpected changes to your booking (e.g., cancellation of a session due to health reasons, etc.).

How can I contact my psychologist?

The email contact to your psychologist will be sent to you via email after booking a session. You can use it if you want to send them a message before the next or first session. If you wish to change or cancel the reservation, you can do so up to 48 hours before the session in your client account at ksebe or contact us at info@ksebe.sk or on Whatsapp. After this time, it is only possible on an individual basis by writing to our client support or the psychologist's email.

Can you issue an invoice for the session?

You will find the invoice for each session in your client account on ksebe immediately after completing the session. Until then, the payment is just a deposit.

If you want to add company details to the invoice, please contact us at info@ksebe.sk or on WhatsApp, we will be happy to help you.

If you are interested in cooperation for several colleagues in the company, you can find more details in the For Companies section.

How long in advance can I cancel or reschedule a session?

More than 48 hours before the session, you can reschedule or cancel the session in your client account on ksebe. For changes concerning the session less than 48 hours before it takes place, please contact us at info@ksebe.sk or via Whatsapp. Options for cancellation and rescheduling depend on the decision of the particular psychologist. As a rule, rescheduling or refunding is not possible less than 48 hours before the session.

In which cities are your psychologists located?

We have psychologists in almost every regional city and also in various towns across Slovakia. You can find the exact list by clicking the “Filters” button when selecting a psychologist in the list of all psychologists.

What should I do if I can't choose a psychologist?

If you can't choose a psychologist, we have several options to help you:

  • Filtering by topic or location: On ksebe.sk/psychologovia, you can filter psychologists by topics that interest you or that you want to address. This will help you find specialists who focus on areas important to you. If you are interested in personal (offline) sessions, you can also filter psychologists by the city where they offer sessions.
  • Matching chatbot: You can use our matching chatbot. Just answer 15 simple questions and the system will recommend three psychologists who best meet your needs.
  • Contact us: If you still have doubts or need further assistance, feel free to contact us at info@ksebe.sk or on Whatsapp. We will be happy to help you find the right psychologist for you.

How do you choose psychologists for ksebe?

Each psychologist on our platform must have appropriate education, which includes the completion of a single-discipline psychology degree and completion of a specialization (or they are in preparation for specialization), or at least two years of experience in the field of psychology or completion of accredited psychotherapeutic training.

After fulfilling one of these conditions, there is an interview with our clinical psychologist and co-founder of the platform, Karol Klienmann, where the suitability of each psychologist for ksebe is individually assessed. You can read more about the conditions for psychologists here.

What if I have technical problems during a video call?

Contact your psychologist via the email you received in the reservation confirmation email, or write to us on Whatsapp.

How can I pay for sessions?

Sessions can be paid for by credit card, Google Pay, Apple Pay, and instant payments from Tatra Bank, VÚB Bank, and Slovenská Sporiteľňa. The deposit, amounting to the full session fee, is payable at the time of booking the session.

What to do if you're not satisfied with your psychologist?

It's natural that not every psychologist will be a perfect fit for you. If you're dissatisfied with the session, please contact us at info@ksebe.sk or on Whatsapp.

You can also provide feedback by filling out a short survey that you will receive by email after each session - if you leave your contact information and describe the issue with the sessions, our colleagues will contact you promptly.

Are the sessions suitable for children or teenagers?

Of course, but not every psychologist focuses on children.

What if I need urgent help?

The platform ksebe does not function as a crisis hotline. If you need urgent help, contact organizations like:

Can a session be gifted?

Of course, you can purchase a gift voucher for one or more sessions here.

Can I go to the same psychologist with my partner?

Seeing the same psychologist individually with your partner can be problematic due to a potential conflict of interest. The psychologist is obligated to maintain objectivity and a neutral approach with each client, which is very challenging in individual counseling for both partners. It is therefore recommended that each partner consults a different professional. If you are interested in couples counseling, we have psychologists who specialize in couples sessions.

Can I get a confirmation of attendance?

Unfortunately, we do not provide confirmations for session attendance.

Can the insurance company reimburse my sessions?

If you have insurance with Dôvera, you can take advantage of the session contribution through ksebe. You can find the current benefit conditions here.
